Cathryn de Prume is originally from Brooklyn, New York. Cathryn has dreamed of being an actress since she was 4 years old. Cathryn ultimately wanted to make people laugh. Enrolling in her first acting class at the early age of 11, Cathryn used her babysitting money to pay for her first acting class. Cathryn joined an onstage improv group in her native town of Park Slope, Brooklyn and later went on to study at NYC’s prestigious High School of the Performing Arts.

During the summer of finishing her first year in college at SUNY Purchase, Cathryn ended up getting her first real beak and got the part of Goldi Lox, opposite Melissa Leo’s Mama Bear, in the indie fantasy thriller Dead Time Stories. Shortly after, Cathryn was cast in the part of drugged-out Brita in Tony Bill’s drama, Five Corners, starring Tim Robbins and Jody Foster. 

Cathryn arrived in Los Angeles in 1990 with two garbage bags full of her belongings. Her first break in Los Angeles was the role of doomed Linda Baily Brown in the television movie, Love, Lies, and Murder. Following this role, Cathryn starred in Down the Shore, which was a FOX sit-com than lasted 29 episodes. 

Additional television credits for Cathryn include: Blossom (as Kandy, the Polish prostitute), Coach (she played a clueless, money grubbing cheerleader), Without A Trace, Grey’s Anatomy, Rules of Engagement and True Blood.

With regard to features, she has additional credits in the following: Bloodhounds of Broadway, Navy Seals, Terminal Velocity, Mrs. Winterbourne, The Wedding Project, Scrambled and The Civilization of Maxwell Bright.
