THE ART AND SKILL OF AUDIOBOOK NARRATION

THE ART AND SKILL

OF AUDIOBOOK NARRATION

ANNOUNCING

ONE-DAY
WORKSHOP
IN NEW YORK CITY:

THE ART AND SKILL

OF AUDIOBOOK NARRATION

If a 30-second spot is like running a 50-yard dash

and a 60-second spot is like running a 100-yard dash,

narrating an audiobook is like running a marathon!

It’s the ultimate in long-form narration—
the one area of voice acting that will outlive you
and be a legacy for your descendants to hear.
It takes a lot of specialized skill-sets to pull it off.
Want to know how to break into audiobooks?
How to sustain your voice for hundreds of pages?

  THE “CASHMAN CACHE©
AUDIOBOOK WORKSHOP
is taught by Marc Cashman, director, producer
and voice actor, recently named by AudioFile Magazine
as one of the “Best Voices of the Year.”
A veteran narrator of over 50 audiobooks for Random House,
BBC America, Harper Audio and Zondervan (among many others), he'll be taking you step-by-step through the process and techniques required of professional audiobook readers.

“Marc, thank you for an excellent workshop.  I really felt I learned a lot from your positive criticism and advice.  I'm now full of enthusiasm to nail a great demo and market myself to some publishers!  It was great to meet you in person, having listened to your podcasts for Voices.com, a tele-seminar a couple of months back through Edge Studio and reading your articles - clearly you know this business inside out!  And having Dan Zitt from Random House there as guest director was the icing on the cakehaving him personally direct our narrations was invaluable.” –Michelle Ford

AND THIS FOLLOW-UP SIX MONTHS LATER:  “There is no doubt in my mind that your seminar made ALL the difference both in my auditions for my first audiobooks and during the recording process.  I was able to deliver an audiobook manuscript with more characterisation, energy, expression and understanding. What's more, I was able to wrap up the first 400 pages in 23 hours - which made the producer and studio engineer extremely happy (not so great for my hourly rate though!).  Thanks again - I would definitely recommend anyone in the voiceover business wanting to make a break into audiobooks to attend the session!” —Michelle Ford

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

Want to be directed by one of
the top audiobook directors in the country?
This one-day workshop is also your chance to be in front of
Kelly Gildea, Executive Director at
Random House/Listening Library.
She’ll be in the studio as well, directing you like she auditions
all new talent, and telling you what you need to know
to make it in the highly competitive arena of audiobook narration.

“You are entirely charming to work with, and your audiobook seminar was really instructive. Your training and preparation for audiobooks is GREAT for anyone doing voiceovers--it gets you to stretch and think creatively, which is an often-neglected skill for those of us who live in corporate land!  I won't hesitate to recommend your workshops to anyone I run across. Happy reading!” Colleen Litof

"I'm doing a very last minute recording this Friday for a Jackie Collins book - I'm narrating the "younger" half of the book and an older voice talent is narrating the "older" half of the book.  Wouldn't have done it without your help!" --Lara Hirner
